Many people with Down’s syndrome start thinking about moving out. They want to have more independence, their own space, stay with their peers, or because their parents are getting older. Whatever the reality is, our group home living services aim to help these individuals live independently and present available resources so they can transition safely into their communities. We seek to provide social, economic, educational, and recreational opportunities to help them function well and hold meaningful jobs.
Our services include life skills training to help residents reach the highest level of independence possible in their daily routines and encourage a sense of well-being. We also offer employment skills training for individuals who desire employment. We help them learn the importance of staying on task, arriving at work on time, taking directions, and adopting appropriate behaviors in an employment setting.
The combination of our safe environment, recreational activities, training, and care services tailored to their needs provides an overall sense of well-being and satisfaction for the adults with Down syndrome.
